Jack Frost Jack Russell Terrier Adult - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Columbia, Tennessee

Hi, I'm Jack Frost. I was abandoned on the street for a month with my buddy, Taz (a chiweenie mix), and we were left to fend off critters in the woods nearby and beg food from people without letting them get too close. My puppy pads were swollen from running back and forth across a 4 lane street trying to beg for food and avoid scary people who were trying to get close to me and Taz. I didn't know they were trying to help.
Just in time, I was lured into a raccoon trap by the smell of bacon and tuna fish by my foster mom who knew it was my last chance at surviving before I got hit by a car or taken by a coyote. All it took was for her to start scratching behind my ear before I remembered how good love and affection felt like from a human, but I'm still learning how to trust just anyone. I sometimes tremble while laying on my bed because I forget that I'm safe now.
I love my foster sister Sochi, a female terrier, and am slowly getting used to these cats staring at me from their cat condo. At first I thought they were out to get me but now I think they are scared of me. And I adore my human foster siblings, Rowen who is 9 and Mia who is 1. I love to hop on the bed and watch while my foster mom changes Mia's diaper and I even let Mia try to diaper me from time to time.
After being the protector of me and my buddy, Taz, I now have a hard time knowing who is friend and who is foe. I have gotten so scared that I have gone a little berserk barking over an unknown human in our driveway, and even biting a neighbor dog, but I promise with every outing I am understanding more and more that not every other person or animal is out to get me. Since I am only 11 pounds and the neighbor dog is pretty big I just wanted her to know that she couldn't hurt me. I was possibly hurt by a big dog in my past, I really can't remember too well.
My foster mom has been working really hard at helping me understand this and I feel really safe in her arms. She calls me her baby boy and tells me that I am safe now and that makes me feel warm and cozy. She keeps telling me that there is someone out there who will be my perfect person, who understands my breed, how intelligent I am, who will help continue to socialize me correctly, and who would love to let me cuddle with them on the couch and play fetch with stuffed animals.
I am about 2 1/2, just neutered a week ago (which will hopefully help with these hormones), 11 pounds, heart worm positive but starting treatment, and so I'm told 'cute as a button'. My foster mom thinks I have the posture of a wolf and the habits of a billy goat as I like to stand on high points.
Please fill out an adoption application for me if you think you are my 'special person'! By the time you do I will probably be a whole different dog since I have come so far in just the 2 weeks since I've been off the street. I even felt comfortable enough yesterday to start playing which made my foster mom cry with joy. Literally, she was crying!
